Basundi Recipe/How to make Basundi

Basundi is one of the famous dessert in india.This sweet is most famous in the states of maharashtra,Gujarat,Karnataka,Andra and Tamilnadu.Basundi is one of the finest dessert with minimum ingredient,which includes Milk,Sugar,Kesar and dry fruits.

This sweet is introduced by one of my friend before 7 years.Immediately by tasting i became a biggest fan to this dessert.I have shared my recipe of basundi with step by step photos.Kindly checkout the recipe and make a try.In this recipe i used sugar,you can also replace it with condensed milk.

Ingredients

Milk-1 litre(Full Fat Milk)

Sugar-1/4 Cup+2 tbsp

Cashew,Pista,Badam-1/4 Cup(Chopped)

Saffron/Kesar-1/2 tsp

Step by Step Photo Recipe

1.Add Milk in a heavy bottom kadai or in a sauce pan.

2.Allow it to boil.

3.Once it starts boiling add Sugar.

4.Simmer and Mix for 1 min.

5.Add Chopped Nuts.

6.Mix occassionally(within 3 mins of interval)

7.Collect thick layer of cream.

8.Add Saffron.

9.Boil Milk till it gets reduces to half.(make sure milk does not sticks to bottom)

10.Once ready store in refrigerator and serve.

Notes

1.Use Only full fat Milk or Cow Milk.

2.Adjust sugar as per your taste.(you can add extra sugar at any time)

3.You can also add 1/4 tsp of cardamom powder to enhance taste.

4.Sugar can be replaced with Condensed milk.
