Badhusha/Balushahi Recipe/How to make Badhusha

Badhusha/Balushahi Recipe is one of the famous and traditonal Sweets in India.This recipe is made with All purpose flour and glazed with Sugar Syrup Coating.This recipe actually resembles doughnuts.In this post i have shared the recipe of badhusha with step by step photos.Kindly checkout the recipe and make a try.

Ingredients

Maida-1 1/2 Cup

Sugar-1 Cup

Water-1/2 Cup

Baking Powder-1/4 tsp

Baking Soda-1/4 tsp

Ghee-2 tbsp

Cardamom Powder-1/4 tsp

Saffron-1 tsp(optional)

Step by Step Photo Recipe

1.In a Mixing bowl add Maida.

2.Add Baking Soda.

3.Then add Baking Powder.

4.Mix once.

5.Now add 2 tbsp Ghee.

6.Mix again.

7.Now add Water Little by little and mix.

8.Donot over mix.(mix partially)

9.Cover and rest for 15 mins.

10.Heat a kadai and add Oil.

11.Take small amount of dough and make a ball.

12.Make a dent at the centre.

13.Drop the pedas.{do not overcrowd and make sure oil is not too hot)

14.Cook in low heat till it turns golden brown on both sides.

15.Add Sugar and water in a pan.

16.Boil for 1 string consistency.

17.Once ready add Cardamom Powder and Saffron and switch off the flame.

18.Drop the cooked badhusha in warm sugar syrup and soak for 1 min.

19.Now badhusha is ready to serve.

Notes

1.While kneading dough make sure you do not overknead.Overkneading the dough makes badhusha harder.

2.If you prepare sugar syrup first add 1 tsp lemon juice to avoid crystalisation in Sugar syrup.

3.Cook badhusha in low to medium heat so that it cooks evenly.

4.Make sugar for 1 string consistency,if exceeds add some water and boil again for some more time.
