Ingredients:

 
Banana Blossom/Vazhaipoo-1 Cup Chopped
Wheat Flour/Godhumai Maavu-1 1/2 Cup
Onion-1 Finely Chopped
Red Chili-3 to 4 Chopped
Curry Leaves-1 Sprig
Coriander Leaves-1 tsp Chopped
Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp
Oil-1 tsp + for Making Roti
Mustard Seeds,Urad dal and Chana Dal-1 tsp
Salt as needed
 

Step by Step Photo Recipes:

 
1.Peel the petals of the blossom and collect Florets.
 
 
 
2.Apply Oil in Hands and Start removing the Calyx Part and Pistil part from each of the Florets.
 
 
 
3.Once removed Chop the Florets and Immerse in Rice Water for 5 Mins(to remove stickiness).
 
 
 
4.Add the Washed Florets in a Vessel with needed Water and 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder and Cook till it becomes Soft(if used in large quantity cook in pressure cooker for 4 whistles).
 
 

5.Once Cooked Strain and Keep aside.

 
 

6.Heat a Kadai and add 1 tsp Oil and Mustard Seeds, Urad dal and Chana dal.

 

7.Once it splutters add Chopped Onion,Chilies,Curry Leaves,Coriander Leaves and Cooked Banana Blossom.

 
 

8.Further add Salt and Saute for 2 to 3 Mins and Switch off the Flame.

 
 

9.Once the mixture gets cooled add Wheat Flour and mix into a dough by adding water little by little(dough should be little sticky,it should not be as a chapati dough).

 
 
 

10.Check For the Salt before you start to make Roti.

11.Heat a dosa pan,wet your hands and take small portion of dough and start spreading(make sure flame is in low).
 
12.You can also spread in aluminium foil or banana leaf and transfer to dosa tawa.
 

 

 

 

13.Spread some Oil or ghee and cook till both sides becomes golden brown.

 
 
 
 

Notes:

  • You can use Oil or Ghee For Making Roti.
  • Use 1 1/2 tsp to 2 tsp Oil or Ghee for better taste.
  • Cook in low to medium Flame.
  • Chilies can added more or less according to your tatse.
