Coconut Chutney recipe/Thengai Chutney recipe with step by step photo recipes.Coconut chutney is made with Coconuts,Ginger,Garlic,split gram and green chili.Coconut chutney goes well with Idly,crispy dosa,Chapati,Venpongal,poori and side dish for pakoda and vada.

Chutney is one of the inevitable side dish served for breakfast in South India.For cocnut chutney you can use fresh ones or freezed coconuts.This is one of the most easiest on the go chutney.Thick chutney can be served with white rice.At home, in morning times whenever i woke up late i used to make this coconut chutney.Do check out the recipe and make a try.You can also add red chilies instead of green chilies. 

The other versions of coconut chutney are coriander leaves chutney,raw mango chutney and hotel style chutney.Coriander chutney is ver simple.The ingredients for coriander chutney is Coriander leaves,Coconut,Ginger and green chilies.Blend everything in a blender into smooth paste.

    Preparation Time:10 mins
    Serves:3 to 4


    Ingredients:


    Coconut Chunks-1/2 Cup
    Split gram/Pottukadalai-1 1/2 tsp
    Green Chili-1 Slited
    Ginger-1 Inch Piece
    Garlic Cloves-5 Small Cloves/2 Big Cloves
    Oil-1 tsp
    Mustard Seeds-1/2 tsp
    Urad dal-1/2 tsp
    Channa dal-1/2 tsp
    Cumin Seeds-1/2 tsp
    Curry Leaves-1 Sprig
    Salt as needed

    Step by Step Photo Recipe:


    1.Add Coconut Chunks,Ginger,Garlic Cloves and Split gram in a blender.



    2.Blend with required Salt and Water.

    3.In a Sauce Pan add 1 tsp Oil.



    4.Add in Mustard Seeds,Urad dal ,Channa dal and Cumin Seeds.



    5.Once it Splutters add Curry Leaves and mix with Chutney.






    Notes:


    • Green Chilies can be added more if required.
    • Split Grams also added more if needed
