Fish Curry /Meen Kuzhambu Recipe with step by step photos and video.Fish Curry is done in different ways,here i have shared my version of fish curry.Do checkout the recipe and make a try.This recipe goes well with hot steamed rice,hot idly and dosa.
Fish curry is made with Tamarind Pulp,coconut paste,Onion,Tomato and with some spices.You can also prepare your own masala by dry roasting coriander seeds,red chilies and methi seeds.blend into powder and use it in gravy.
In my home,we usually prepare gravy a night before so that it tastes best next day.

    Ingredients:


    Fish-1/2 kg Pieces
    Shallots-10 to 15
    Tomato-1 Sliced
    Curry Leaves-2 Sprig
    Coriander Leaves-2 tsp
    Chili Powder-2 tsp
    Coriander Powder-2 tsp
    Turmeric Powder-1/2 tsp
    Tamarind Pulp-1 Big Lemon Size 
    Coconut Chunks/Grated-1/2 Cup
    Ginger-1/2 inch
    Garlic Cloves-2
    or Ginger Garlic Paste-1/2 tsp
    Oil-1 tsp
    Salt as needed


    Step by Step Photo Recipes:


    1.Heat a Kadai and add Oil.
    2.Add Shallots and Curry Leaves and Cook till it becomes Soft.

    3.Add Tomato and Coriander Leaves and Cook till it becomes Soft.
    4.Now add the Tamarind Paste.

    5.Further add Coriander Powder, Chili Powder, Turmeric Powder,needed Salt and 1 1/2 Cup Water and cook till raw smell of Tamarind goes.

    6.Add Coconut Chunks, Ginger ,Garlic and needed Water in a blender and blend into smooth paste.


    7.Add the Coconut Paste in Gravy and add 1/2 Cup Water and boil till raw smell goes off.

    8.Finally add Fish Pieces and Simmer for 5 mins and Switch off.

    Notes:


    • You can also add methi seeds for extra taste in Oil while adding Shallots.
