Paasi Parupu sambr/Moong dal sambar recipe with step by step photos.This recipe is made with Moong dal/Paasi parupu,Shallots/onion,Tomatoes,Curry leaves and coriander leaves and some spices.This recipe goes well with Idly and dosa.

Moong dal is rich in proteins.Moong dal is a split dal from whole green gram.It has a cooling properties.It improves digestion.It helps to regulate blood pressure and also promotes weight loss.Add this dal to you diet recipe which has many health nutritional benefits.Whenever a heavy meal is done,next day morning have this moong dal sambar with hot idly,which helps to maintain your gut health.

After a heavy non veg sundays,i prefer to have moong dal sambar next day morning.You can also make plain moon dal sambar or by adding veggies like drumsticks,carrot,beans and cabbage.

    Ingredients:


    Moong dal-1/2 Cup
    Shallots-12 Slitted
    Tomato -2 Medium Size Chopped
    Curry Leaves-2 Sprig
    Coriander Leaves-2 tsp
    Drumstick-1 Full Chopped
    Beans-1/4 Cup Chopped
    Carrots-1/4 Cup Chopped
    Sambar Powder-1/2 tsp
    Chili Powder-3/4 tsp
    Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp
    Asafoetida/Hing-1/4 tsp
    Garlic Cloves-5 to 7
    Oil-2 tsp
    Mustard Seeds-1/2 tsp
    Urad dal-1/2 tsp
    Channa dal-1/2 tsp
    Salt as Needed.

    Step by Step Photo Recipe:


    1.Add Moong dal in a Pressure Cooker and Saute till aroma Comes.



    2.Wash off and add Moong dal in Pressure cook with Garlic Cloves,Pinch of Turmeric and required water and Pressure Cook till it becomes soft and mashy.



    3.Once cooked Mash it with Masher/Mathu and keep aside.


    4.Heat a Kadai and add oil.


    5.Add in Mustard Seeds,Urad dal and Channa dal.


    6.After it Splutters add in Shallots and Cuury Leaves and Cook till it becomes Soft.


    7.Now add in Tomatoes and Cook till it is soft.



    8.Further add in add in all veggies.


    9.Add Sambar Powder,Chilli Powder and needed Salt.


    10.Mix and add 1/2 Cup Water.


    11.Once veggies gets cooked add the cooked dal and Hing and required water and allow it boil.



    12.Once ready add in Coriander Leaves and Serve.
