Raw Banana Stir Fry/Vazhaikai Varuval/Vazhaikai Poriyal Recipe with detailed step by step Photos and Video.Vazhaikai Poriyal recipe is made with Raw Banana/Plantain and Some spices.
 
Raw Banana can be used to prepare Sambar,Poriyal and Bajji.This Recipe is very simple and easy to prepare.Vazhaikai poriyal goes best with sambar rice,rasam rice and curd rice.This recipe is prepared with fresh green raw banana.I have made the recipe be slicing the raw banana.you can also cut into cubes and make this recipe.
 
In this recipe i have added Curry Powder.you can also make an alternative version by adding sambar powder or Chili Powder.

Raw Banana/Vazhaikai-1
Chili Powder-1 tsp
Curry Masala-1 tsp
Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp
Ginger garlic paste-1 tsp
Salt as needed
Oil-2 tsp
Mustard Seeds,Urad dal and Chana dal-1 tsp
Coriander Leaves-1 tsp Chopped Finely
 

Method:

 
Cut the corners of raw banana and slice it.you can also cut into cubes.
 
Add the banana pieces in water with turmerric powder and boil till it becomes soft.
 
Heat a kadai and add oil.once the oil is hot add mustard seeds,urad dal and chana dal.
 
Once splutters add ginger garlic paste,Chili powder and curry powder and saute till raw smell goes off.
 
Add cooked raw banana and needed salt and saute for 2 mins in medium flame.finally garnish with chopped coriander leaves and switch off.
 
 
Pre Preparation:

1.Heat water in kadai and add 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder.
 
 

2.Add Sliced raw banana pieces.

 
 

 

 

4.Once cooked,filter and keep aside.

 
 

5.In same kadai add oil.

 
 

6.Add mustard seeds,urad dal and chana dal.

 
 

7.Once it splutters add Ginger garlic paste.

 
 

8.Add Chili Powder,Curry Powder and saute till raw smell goes off.

 

 

 

 

9.Now add Cooked raw banana and add Salt.

 

 

 

 

10.Mix and Cook for 2 mins in medium flame.

11.Finely add chopped coriander leaves and mix.
 
 

 

 

Notes:

 
  • Adjust Salt and Chili Powder as per your taste.
  • If you feel dry add extra 2 tsp Oil.
