Simple Fenugreek Seeds Gravy Recipe/Vendhaya Kuzhambu Recipe/Menthulu Pulusu



Fenugreek Seeds/Methi seeds/vendhaya Kuzhambu Recipe with step by step photo recipes.This recipe is made with feenugreek seeds,tamarind pulp and coconut paste.This is one of the healthiest recipe.This recipe goes goes hot rice and idlies.

Fenugreek has lot of health benefits.It helps in reducing sugar level.Soak a spoon of fenugreek seeds in water and have it empty stomach next morning.This helps in reducing body heat and blood sugar levels.Methi seeds helps in increasing breastmilk for feeding mothers.This seeds helps in reducing inflammation and cholesterol level.

Fenugreek gravy can be done in two ways.one way is very simple.Saute the fenugreek seeds in kadai till aroma arises,make a powder and add at the final stage of gravy preparation.The other way i shared below with step by step photos.Both versions tastes same.I request you to checkout and make a try.

Ginger Gravy


    Preparation Time:5 Mins

    Cooking Time:30 Mins
    Serves:4 to 5

    Ingredients:


    Shallots-10 to 15 Slitted
    Tomato-1 Sliced
    Fenugreek Seeds/Vendhayam-1 tsp
    Curry Leaves-2 Spring
    Coriander Leaves-2 tsp Chopped
    Coconut-1/2 Cup Grated or Chunks
    Ginger-1 inch Piece
    Garlic Cloves-5 Cloves
    Tamarind Pulp-1 big Lemon Size 
    Chili Powder-1/2 tsp
    Coriander Powder-1 tsp
    Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp
    Oil-2 tsp
    Vadagam-1 tsp
      or
    Mustard Seeds,Urad dal,Channa dal-1 tsp
    Salt as needed.


    Step by Step Photo Recipe:


    1.Add a tsp of Oil and add Fenugreek Seeds and saute till it becomes light brown.


    2.Add Shallots and salt and saute till it becomes soft.


    3.Now add tomatoes and curry leaves and mix till it becomes soft and mushy.



    4.Add Tamarind pulp,Turmeric powder and Chili Powder and allow till it becomes thick.


    5.Add Coconut,Ginger and Garlic in a blender and blend into smooth paste.



    6.Once it gets thicken add Coconut mixture and add coriander Powder.






    7.In a Saute Pan add 1 tsp Oil and Vadagam or Mustard Seeds,Urad dal and Chana dal and add to garvy.


    8.After gravy gets thicken add Coriander leaves and switch off.


    Serve with Hot rice or Idly
